Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 13, 2026

Bitebook is designed to help you save and organize restaurants. This policy explains how information is handled when you use Bitebook.

Restaurant Information

Restaurant information you save may include restaurant names, addresses, cities, notes, visit status, ratings, price levels, and relevant dates.

For users without Bitebook Pro, this information is stored locally on the device.

If Bitebook Pro is enabled, this information is also stored in the user's private iCloud database using Apple CloudKit so that it can sync across devices signed in to the same Apple Account. Private CloudKit data is accessible only to the user by default and is not visible to the developer through the CloudKit developer portal.

Bitebook does not operate its own server that receives or stores restaurant information. Information stored through iCloud is processed by Apple and is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy .

Location

With your permission, Bitebook uses your current location to prioritize nearby restaurants in search results. Location access is optional. Bitebook does not permanently store your current location or send it to the developer.

Restaurant search and location-related results are provided using Apple MapKit. Location and search information required to provide these results may be processed by Apple and is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy .

Purchases

Bitebook Pro is offered as an in-app purchase processed by Apple through the App Store. Bitebook uses Apple StoreKit to determine whether Bitebook Pro has been purchased and to restore purchases.

The developer does not receive or store payment card details or other payment information. Purchase information processed by Apple is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy .

Contacting Support

If you contact support by email, the developer receives your email address and any information you choose to include. The support message may also contain basic diagnostic information, including the Bitebook version, iOS version, and device type.

This information is used only to respond to your support request and is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide support. You may request deletion of a support conversation by contacting the email address below.

Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking

Bitebook does not use third-party analytics services, advertising SDKs, or tracking technologies. Bitebook does not sell your personal information.

Data Retention and Deletion

Restaurant information remains on your device until you delete it within Bitebook or remove the app from the device.

If iCloud sync is enabled through Bitebook Pro, restaurant information may remain in your private iCloud database after the app is removed from one device. Deleting a restaurant within Bitebook also deletes it from Bitebook's synced data. You may also manage Bitebook's stored data through the iCloud settings provided by Apple.

Because private CloudKit data belongs to the user's iCloud account and is not accessible to the developer, the developer cannot directly view, export, or delete that private data on the user's behalf.

Your Choices

You may deny or revoke location access at any time in iOS Settings. Bitebook will continue to work without location access, but nearby restaurant prioritization may be less accurate.

You may delete individual restaurants within Bitebook. You can also choose not to purchase Bitebook Pro, in which case restaurant information remains stored locally and is not synchronized through Bitebook's CloudKit container.

Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated when Bitebook's features or data practices change. The latest version will remain available on this page together with its updated date.
